Toronto Mayor Performs Badly At Answering QuestionsIf you check out my cynical blog
http://bloggerjohn2.bravejournal.com/entry/29052 you will see the entry I just made regarding the inaction and responsibility avoidance that the Mayor of Toronto Canada has just committed, if I am understanding correctly after watching a TV interview.
First Fly Infested Coffee Shops, Now Exploding Propane PlantsIn the past, I have reported in my cynical blog about how in at least one province in Canada, the criteria for food inspection at a large national coffee shop chain is set by the coffee shop chain itself, and the actual provincial regulations are ignored and allowed to be violated. Other provinces appear by and large to operate in a similar manner.
Was it YES, or Was It NO?And now, it seems, we have a Mayor of the largest populated city in Canada avoiding the issue of propane plants close to residences. He quite simply did not answer the question when asked if there were other propane plants similar to the one that exploded over the weekend
Vote Of No-Confidence?I hope that this individual does not stand for election again, the people of Toronto deserve, and are paying taxes for, something a lot more representative of public interest rather than corporate consideration.
There should be an issue made of this individuals performance. We are often told that the reason the salaries of people like this are so high is 'because that is competitive with what would be paid in industry', well, how about this guy performing like someone in industry, and getting fired for past errors as well as failure to respond to major evidence that propane and residences do not go well when too close to each other as permitted by the city that he is the leader of.
If my interests being represented by this Mayor, I would attend the next council meeting and propose a vote of no confidence - quite simply, he needs to go.
